In recent years we have had our successful seasons under Daniel Stendel and Valerian Ismael. Both played a high pressing game which we applied well. Granted with Val I it wasn't always pretty but effective. Looking up on Wiki DStendel I saw this... "On 8 October 2019, Stendel was sacked as manager of Barnsley following a run of ten games without a win. Stendel's departure sparked widespread criticism of the board." The difference I feel was that the board sacked DS as he knew as basic fact of football ie you don't sell your best players and get better. VI got a better offer from WBA and went with his coaching staff with the intent of using the high press and expecting the backing of the WBA board. DS then went on to manage Hearts and ironically Nancy FC(owned by non other than our present owners) but was sacked after a run of poor results. I wonder if VIsmael will resurface at another PMC club in the future.
