Stream link below for later. Questions range from coming through the Barnsley Academy, promotion from League One, that potential red card, Simon Davey, Steve Evans, getting in to coaching early, working with Daniel Stendel, preparing for the Championship, being overlooked for the interim job, and working at Hearts.
Stock questions for all of them. Who was the joker in the dressing room and have you any amusing stories to tell?
Another one who thought Patrick's behaviour was poor and that Davey was a dishonest snake. Seems a growing pattern
That was my favourite interview in what has been a superb, informative series. Thank you for all your efforts, old mate. Dale came across as an utterly honest, straight talking bloke, with an obvious love for the club. He's a credit to himself, his profession and his family. The only issue I have is the interviewer being a Joe Pasquale impersonator!
You mean Dale!!?? I agree. Another enjoyable one, love the opening photo. Hard to believe as fans we were all so happy this time last year
Did I misunderstand or did Dale say (or hint) that in the summer he chose Barnsley FC over Daniel Stendel? He said that in the summer he made it clear to Dane that he was being a club man and so signed a new contract. Later in the interview he says "I chose the club over Daniel effectively in the summer" I took that as suggesting that in the summer Daniel spoke to Huddersfield. The club knew he had done. Dale told the club he was willing to be a club man and chose the club over Daniel. Or am I taking 2 and 2 and getting 63? If so what does anyone think he meant?
I think given what he was saying about Simon Davy and honesty that he wouldn't have followed Daniel if he thought he was a snake. I've a feeling too that there were things unsaid, understandably given he's wanting a long career in coaching hopefully.
Correct. He was meaning he was signing as a First Team Coach for Barnsley not as Daniel Stendel's First Team Coach
I don't think he would either but I sort of got the impression that Daniel speaking to Huddersfield wasn't as shocking or secretive as has been made out by con way to justify his sacking.
