It would be great to have all public information about all of the current directors of BFC Investment Ltd (i.e. Chien et al) in one place. No rumours, no shoddy reporting, only information from reputable sources. It should be available for all to access. How could we go about doing this? Anybody have any experience doing something similar? And aside from all that, has anybody already attempted to do some digging? If so, what did you find? It appears to me like there's very little out there. The company accounts are completely sealed from the public in Hong Kong AFAIK. But I have zero experience doing this so maybe others would have more luck.
Last year I decided to try and investigate and spent something in the region of £100 on various HK documents that were accessible. I also tried digging around asking contacts involved in acquisitions and turnarounds if they may be aware of who these people were. Aside from listing home addresses of directors in the HK vehicle and who they were (same as in the football club), there are no other details of value. No accounts or listing of holdings or securities. Things may have changed since, but HK is one of several places that can be used by choice or coincidence to make transparency more difficult.
I suspect Patrick would have rather sold to a UK owner, but it seems there wasn't one. Selling to a company based in China means there is no available info. Same for Saudi / Qatari / Russian owners as well. That has been the way the country rolls for a couple of decades. It is ******. Who is right / who is wrong. I'm fairly sure where I'd place my money between the Crynes & the Lee / Conway consortium TBH.
I paid for some info a few years ago, when they first came in, but there was nothing worth sharing further.
