Has anyone applied for a covid passport online - not the app I want one sending to my email so I can download from there. I got a QR code sent underneath it is says expires on 12th December (SUNDAY !) but when I read the rest of the message it says valid for 30 days from issue !! I've also applied for a paper version but says up to 5 working days to arrive - ie next Friday day of the WBA match.
By the looks of it you can just scan a LFT QR code put in you were negative and your good to go for a couple of days so I wouldn't worry.
Yeah it adds to Apple wallet with a single click as well so it's effectively in same place as season ticket. Totalitarianism made simple!!
FYI if you have the app you can request its sent to your email as a pdf if you like I checked and it works though I wont use it as its easier to stick it in my apple wallet next to my Season Ticket
Thanks for the replies I've now downloaded the app & got a QR valid 1 month Just confused me when I asked for it online & it expired in 2 days. I've also asked for one to be posted in case I can't access it on the the phone for any reason. All this IT stuff is starting to leave me behind
How come the passports only last until the end of the year just into next year? Is it a sign that we're going to have to have regular boosters?
I've no means of printing my QR code off can I just use the one on the existing nhs app on my android? Or do I have to download a separate Covid passport app?
Just show it on your existing NHS app, don't think there is any requirement to have it printed off mate.
I've downloaded mine from both the NHS website and the NHS app as a pdf. The expiry date has always been a month ahead. I would try again via the website and the app till the download is correct.
Surely if someone has a unique LFT to scan they’d just do the test? Or do you mean people will do it and test positive and then just go wherever anyway? I’d like to think people won’t but obviously some would, but then that’s the same as people who currently go wherever coughing their guts up.
Yes I would like to think people would do the test just that you obviously don't have to if you don't want. Again I wouldn't like to think anyone would test positve and still go out. I do think some people will not bother doing the test at all and just input negative.
I presume some people would because there’s all types of people but I really don’t understand why. Then we’d have people refusing a vaccine*, refusing a 20 second test and making up a result and heading out to a mass gathering when they have a testing kit in their hands. Surely that’s got to be a rare scenario? * I didn’t include medically exempt as I’d like to think they would be more likely to do a test as it wasn’t a purposeful choice to be unvaccinated unlike those who turned down the offer.
As you say all sorts of people. Those who have turned the vaccine may not want to take a test either. Hopefully they would but given its basically a trust exercise I would expect people to cheat it
A work colleague took her daughter to a huge dance show in Blackpool (from her dance school). loads of the parents and quite a few kids caught Covid there… From one of the dance teachers; who despite feeling ill, felt she owed it to the kids to go and ‘help out’. There really is no end to how utterly fcu king stupid some people can be. In no universe would she have considered herself to be anything other than a hero for turning up to help out. Never would have considered she could be responsible for other peoples deaths.
Despite all my arguing against lockdowns I do understand that a big problem is people are stupid. They will continue to be stupid regardless of restrictions though so I have no idea of the answer. A guy at work last year lost his sense of taste so went for a covid test. He didn't bother to tell anyone though and it was only when he checked his phone on break that he found out he was positive
