Today Labour launched it's manifesto can anyone explain what their policy is regarding the above. If you are still going to vote Labour can you explain why since the idiot heading the organisation has close ties. Just thought I'd ask as I know a family who had a son murdered by the IRA whilst serving our country.
I'd imagine its the same policy that brought about the GF agreement. And guess what? No more troubles! Hooray for Corbyn!
Too far gone pal, it’s like they’ve been radicalized into thinking that going back to the 70’s class war under Corbyn is a wonderful idea. All you’ll get is insults.
I’m a veteran. I really don’t want JC or BJ as Prime Minister...... for various reasons I think both/either of them will be a disaster for my country. I am hoping for a hung parliament to minimize the damage...
He was the deputy first minister, he was a MP, never sat in the commons but still a mp, I'm sure the queen got advised and knew the bigger picture in relation to the GFA. I dont ever recall her being an activist and supporting the Brighton bombers outside court in the early 80s.
1. Have you read the manifesto? 2. Offer me evidenced proof of Corbyn's 'close ties' with any terrorist organisation?
Given how much it bothers some people I don't quite understand the obsession with Corbyn talking to terrorists when the Tory party under Thatcher was actively pardoning and dealing with themwhilst in power . Maybe ask the family how they feel about these examples? And.... It's also incredibly naive to assume that Governments never speak to what are classed as terrorist organisations. It's happened throughout history and in most cases quite rightly so. 'Jaw jaw, not war, war' as Churchill said.
Correct. The issue which taints Corbyn though (in terms of the IRA) is his ideological support for republicanism.
I’m not voting Labour because of how they have twisted and turned to deny Brexit. BUT - Corbyn is neither a terrorist sympathiser or a racist. These things are being thrown at him to try and derail the Labour Party. He has continually said that there needs to be dialogue with terrorist organisations to see if a solution can be found. As for being racist - I would describe him as the least racist person in Parliament. There is a huge difference between being anti Israel state and anti Jewish.
According to a 2016 Credit Suisse report the richest 1% of people in the UK own a quarter of the wealth. So when you talk about Class War, you're quite right, except that it's the super rich who are waging it against the majority of the people who suffer poor public services, health, education etc. A child can see this is grossly unfair, yet many voting adults are so indoctrinated from reading how this is simply the natural order of things, that they consistently promote it despite it not being in their interests to do so.
There is loads happening in the province that the media dont report on, the troubles in relation to the PROVO's are gone but the troubles are still there, failed bombing attempts of the PSNI, knee capping it's just that the current Republican element is in its infancy just like the PIRA in the early 70s, many Republicans feel let down by sinn fein as they not only wanted Brit soldiers off Brit streets in Ulster but there one true goal was a united Ireland, so no the troubles haven't gone
The government (MI6) were running agents at every level in the IRA, in order to keep their cover they were allowed to kill people and even kill other informers also being paid by the same government. It might be your friends son was murdered by someone being paid by the government.
Maria Garland was a member of the IRA and is now a Tory councillor. I suspect you don’t actually care about the issue anyway and are just interested in repeating what you’ve been told to be outraged about.
Respect your reasons for not wanting to vote Labour this time around and spot on with views re Corbyn. Don't get why some posters post exclusively and incessantly about Corbyn on a Barnsley FC forum either... what a complete waste of time and effort!
Or if you want a full run down of talks, this looks pretty useful.. https://ansionnachfionn.com/2017/05...and-negotiations-between-britain-and-the-ira/
Johnson's deal was voted through the first reading in Parliament only for him to pull it and call an election. What was the point of all that discussion and faffing about when he did that?
