The first 20 minutes we were fantastic totally outplayed Brentford. Missing through injury or suspension Radlinger Diaby B Williams, Dougal, Mcgeehan, 5 first 11 starters missing makes a big difference to a developing squad. Adapting to a strong new league for manager and players. If chaplin had scored the open net then its a different game. Brentfords 1st goal off side, second goal looked a fluke cross to me, Collins should have saved the third. They have the money to buy our best player last year and put him on the bench. We have young players still adapting to the league. There was plenty of effort on show. Brown still coming back from a long lay off. Sibbick, J Williams playing out of position both very young and in experienced and doing this in the championship. Brentford are a strong championship side who will be pushing for the playoffs. We have had some good performances this season against top teams.
All fair points, but let’s be reight we are way off the pace of this league. Anyone with an ounce of football knowledge knows going into a Championship season with a squad of U23s was going to be a car crash. Even with these players back in the squad, we aren’t good enough. Brentford should have had at least six today and they miles above us in terms of ability. Can’t knock the players, most are giving their best, but simply aren’t up to it yet.
Was their first goal actually offside or is this BFC fans moaning about the officials for the sake of it? Not seen any highlights yet btw.
It was "level" in old money. But with the new rules, the right half of his body and his right foot were offside. I hate the new rules, but by the letter of the law he was off.
What makes me angry is that at the end of last season we went up with Luton and Charlton and we’re arguably better than both of them and now fast forward four months and a transfer window and we look out of our depth while they seem more than competitive in the championship. Sad really.
Bang on. Redders said at half time ball would have been like wet soap. Should have tried to get more shots off. We were lacking second half. Watching on Sky I think heads have gone down and we'll get mullered by Derby.
I never expected us to storm the league this year, hoped we would stay up and think we will improve as the season progresses. Im sure we missed out on decent transfers in the summer that Stendel and the owners banked on bringing in but ive no doubt we will strengthen in January. We just need a win and pick up a few points to not get cut adrift in the bottom 3. I was as disappointed as everyone else today but i dont see the benefit of venting or slagging people off I leave that to the wife.
This has been my concern all along. Stendel can only keep the positivity going for so long before defeat after defeat takes its toll on these young players and their confidence is completely shot. By the time January comes round it could be far too late to do anything.
You've got vent though otherwise you'd drive yourself mad. Personally i've accepted where we're at and as long as I can see they've put a shift in it tempers my disappointment.
The problem in January is we will struggle to attract any decent players when we’re probably stuck in the bottom three.
We were good that first 30mins. But was that because Brentford were poor and made us look good? I certainly think Brentford weren’t at the races at first. But when they found their gear, the experience showed. They potentially had a £10m centre-back pairing though. With £3M Pinnock to come off the bench. That’s right - little old Brentford......
Be reight, prices for early bird will be frozen. We’ll all be so grateful and happy to pay the same for an inferior product...
For all Brentford's good play second half if Chaplin drags it back inside he's got an open goal. It was criminal to hit it first time and from behind the goal it was missing. The defender spared his blushes in a sense. The corner that followed set up the move for the equaliser. Instead of Brentford kicking off 2-0 down we're kicking off at 1-1.Fine margins.
It’s a nice way of looking at things but they hit us on the counter attack that many times in the second half that if they’d ended up winning 6-1 I don’t think any of us could’ve said it was harsh. We pressed well early doors but you can only do that for a short spell, it’s not possible to do that for the majority of the game. Once they rode the early storm they pretty much dominated us
