just seen this thread on Twitter it seems there is actually a Tory who is also a decent human being at least in some areas. Shame he is in a very tiny minority

I’m of the belief that most MPs are in it to do good even in this day and age .
Labour don’t have the monopoly on decent thinking MPs but imo they have the majority .
Usually it’s Party Whips that take away individual compassion with threats to their livelihoods .
Some MPs defy their Whips and vote for what they believe in then get lies and distortions on their characters etc . But Corbyn

Ah thanks - I was worried that I was starting to agree with a Tory - clearly just a blip
Now if he changed that to every Russian who has Bribed donated to the Tory party or bought a golden visa Id be more inclined to agree with him

I was alerted to a staggering fact recently
I dont know if you saw this little gem from the delightful Mr Rees Mogg recently

It turns out it is factually correct but you need to take it at slightly more than face value

Far more concerning is this analysis - which shows just how much of an influence Russia has on the UK - more than 10% of our entire annual GDP is Russian money which I find a bit alarming

I saw a post last week that showed the sanctions per "entity"... so either a business, organisation or individual.

Leading the way were the EU with around 600 entities sanctioned. US were around 500. Canada and Australia were in the 400's.

The UK's "world leading, biggest ever" sanctions amounted to a grand total of...... 16.

Glaring own-goal from Rees Smug, actually highlighting the fact that the UK is massively in hock to the Oligarchs. No wonder the Tories kept him out of the firing line in the 2019 election....

I think that Bojo is being blackmailed by Putin. I can't think of any other sane reason that we are as a country being so tardy - other than sheer incompetence of course.
Odd really because Brexit was meant to make us nimble and swift-footed, unlike the EU with all their mountains of bureaucracy....

This is Johnson's idea of nimble and swift-footed...

My Mrs has the theory that he is actually a Russian Agent. I can see why she might think that though I personally don't think he acts for anyone other than himself

There is evidence supporting her theory, just after the Salisbury poisonings when Agent Bozo was foreign secretary, he disappeared without any minders to a party hosted by Evgeny Lebedev (future Lord Lebedev) in Italy. Lebedev's dad - a known Russian spy - was at the party. Odd the the foreign secretary should bugger off at a time when he should have been involved with the poisoning investigation and odder still that he should meet a Russian spy.

Heard this on radio 4. Good on him. Passionate speech. Makes me think he is out of place in a Tory Party that has Priti Patel as home secretary. Even the Daily Mail are critical of the government on this. Grief.
