    By the look on the Wigan players face he thought it was a red. Only thing that may have made ref give a yellow is that it was a long way from goal.

    Law 12 states
    The following must be considered:
    • distance between the offence and the goal
    • general direction of the play
    • likelihood of keeping or gaining control of the ball
    • location and number of defenders

    Refs got no clue where the defenders are in relation to Humphrys cos he’s so far behind play but the lino on the other side should have let him know.
