The Season So Far.. Youtube link.
I love this season's Barnsley team. And the media team are putting out some great content this season. Please keep it coming. Thank you!
It's much better fare than our last season at the level, isn't it? After 15 games in 2013/14 we were 2nd bottom on 11 points having scored 16 and conceded 31 goals (-15 GD). This season after 15 games we are 12th on 20 points having scored 27 goals conceding 24 (+3 GD). Only Newcastle have out-scored us. Admittedly, we've conceded more than we'd all like but it's been an electric season in my eyes so far. We've competed in every game I've seen (missed Brighton). Get something on Saturday and we get to recharge the batteries, get some of the missing lads back on the grass, attack another 10 games or so and then the window opens to freshen things up if needed. But on current form we're looking at 60 points over the season, 80 odd goals scored and a 10th to 14th placed finish. Then we go again with a year of experience into this fairly youthful group. Appreciate it's an opinions game but if you're not buzzing as a Reds fan right now, you probably never will be. The squad we have in transfer fee terms totals around £1,500,000 or so. Bristol City (no bigger or more successful than us) had £3,000,000 Lee Tomlin on Saturday. We beat Wolves who had a £5,000,000 forward on the bench, 4-0, at Molineux. We turned over Derby comfortably who have spent £50,000,000 in the last three windows combined. Hats off to Burton too, holding their own, but they've gone a different route with the likes of COGba, Dyer, Ward, Buxton, Brayford etc. Looking forward to Saturday. Never been to Burton. Another one ticked off. You Reds.
It's been an ace season so far. Loving it. The lads and the club should be proud so far and full of confidence that we can compete at this level. See you at Burton. Can't wait.
Oh, and 15 games into last season a division below we had 14 points, had scored 16 and conceded 23 goals, and had lost six games on the bounce. We've come a long, long way together, through the hard times and the good...
gave me goose bumps, remember last time we were in championship we were lucky to get 0 on away trips ,brilliant video, music and how it was put together randomly rather than game after game so you didnt know what goal was coming next
It certainly is better, Andy. The calendar year of 2016 will be one we'll never forget, for all the right reasons.
