A know some will be rubbing there heads at the thought of Christmas trees but when do yours go up? My Mrs normally has ours up the 2nd to last weekend in November we have 2 kids so a love Christmas myself, I’m fully expecting to see one or two over the next week tbh. What’s concerning me is the mrs has started adding Christmas tree emojis to her messages to me
https://www.housebeautiful.com/uk/lifestyle/a25333519/when-to-put-up-your-christmas-tree/ Sunday 27th of November is when the tree supposedly should go up this year if you read the advent section in the link.
We had our Christmas tree delivered the other day. Walked in from work to find wife and child had already put it up! No other decs until December but still absolutely bonkers if you ask me.
It’s not a real one thankfully! Our first Christmas together she insisted on getting a real one, I was still finding pine needles all over the place and in the car the following April. Never again!!
TBH it’s been a bit of a rubbish year for most people with the cost of living crisis. If putting your decorations up early makes you feel a bit better, why not?
Had a real one for a few year, Côme Christmas day it looked like it had been on sesh for 4 weeks, looked a right mess
A think Covid has mare a lot of people try to enjoy this Time of year even more, there’s certainly a feel good factor in house when decorations go up
I totally agree. I always feel nostalgic at Christmas. I love the decorations, love how excited the kids get, hate seeing parents getting older as the years pass, and think fondly of the years gone by and those that are no longer with us.
Putting trimmings up before mid December should be a criminal offence, and any left up after New Year's eve should also be deemed a crime. BAH! HUMBUG!!!!
House across from us had skeletons and other spooky things around for Halloween at the start of September and then Tuesday this past week, they disappeared and now the house looks like Blackpool with all the Christmas lights in the windows. Wouldn’t like to see that electric bill in the current circumstances!
Twenty odd years ago we had the Christmas from hell where all the in laws and siblings did nothing but argue and bicker , the following year we decided to go off on holiday to escape it all The best decision we ever made. We’ve not put a tree up for over twenty years Bah Humbug lol
We’re told not to be negative and bah humbug for commenting on people putting Xmas decorations up so early, (Sis in law already has her up) yet they take them down on Boxing Day. I argue it is them who are being bah humbug as Boxing Day is very much part of the Xmas celebrations. 2 weeks before Xmas is plenty early enough, take them down after New Year
