    Joining Newcastle for around 25million apparently. 30 year old. Crazy

    Would never have thought premier league clubs would be paying anywhere near that money for Wood when he played for us, no matter what age.
    Makes what money we get seem even more a pittance

    A very small amount for Newcastle given their owner's wealth but just shows how overinflated the January transfer market is.
    No way is 30 year old Chris wood worth that amount.

    I suppose a small snippet of their thinking may be taking a focal point away from a direct relegation rival, too. But it's just baffling to me. Wouldn't surprise me if Newcastle do manage to stay up this season, he wouldn't even get another game for them next season and beyond. I know he's barely scored this season, but he does have a decent enough record for burnley in the prem... but still!

    The fee aside, I think he's the sort of player they need in trying to avoid relegation. I'd be worried if I was a Burnley fan selling to relegation rival.

    If he can help them stop up then it’s 20 million well spent and then next season he’ll be bombed out by Benzema and Mbappe.

    The fans have stopped wearing T-towels on there heads.They appear massively underwhelmed with the appointment of Howe and signings they are linked with.A couple more weeks and they'll be after Ashley back.

    Yeah bud, although Sky say that release clause might not be in use (Can't think of a better term? haha) until the summer. Dunno. Burnley might think it's a great bit of coin what they cant turn down for a 30 year old who's scored 3 goals this season

    They wanted Botman from Lille, but they're refusing to sell in Jan, they certainly need an upgrade at centre half... Can't see them stopping up if they don't upgrade in that area

    Lets be honest they were never going to be able to just splash the cash and attract all best players in the world with them not been in europe and been in the bottom 3. Took city years to build it up and attract the players they now can.
