The downside of all this is how many ££s per mile Total Cost of Ownership. We’ve 2 cars on the drive that between them have done less than 6k in the year. There’s a future where we definitely only need 1 fairly low mileage car, but between now and then we will need to travel different directions for work.
Am same i usually spend £20 a week on petrol and av hardly used any think ive put £15 in since start of year
My cousin has a car repair garage . He said he's servicing cars that have only done 1k mileage throughout the year. I think he just stands at the side of the car and taps his spanner.
I'm due a major service this summer but given I'm not earning or using the car much at the moment presumably it . can wait longer.
I had my MOT and service last October. I’d probably only done about 3,000 miles since last year but I’ve always read that for a service it’s “12 months or 12,000 miles” so I got it done. Not sure if that’s said to get more money out of us but oh well.
Retirement coming in October this year then they can shut the roads altogether for me done enough driving to last a life time
Ive always done 20k per year - most 25K least 18.5K for at least the last 20 years - missed a call from the dealer service dept today - just checked and done just under 6500 since the service just under a year ago - and I did 2000 of those between the service and lockdown - but its stopping me doing things I want to do
I normally do 12k. Done 2k this year. Another thing that doesn't help as I pay all servicing, insurance, tax, etc, but get 45p per mile for business miles via my limited company. No business income & the 33rd slap in the balls. At least I'm still breathing.
