End of an era with a few journeyman about to drop down the leagues with the look of things. Don't think I'd have any of them to be honest. In fact that list makes the clubs idea to ditch the merry go round players a better one.
Shotton, Winnall, Lee and Dunkley would be worth signing up for me. I'm guessing bigger fish will be after Lee though. Irvine is a great player but I'm sure a birmingham or Forest will sign him up on 25,000 a week.
think you're right, tehre's some proper 2012-sounding names in there! As if Nathan Dyer and Mame Diouf are still picking up a wage in the champ
I think I'm with one of the other replies. Is there anyone on that list you'd get super excited about us signing? A couple of names in there, but not sure I'd flat out demand any of them to be brought in. I like it when we sign the best players from Leagues One and Two for a few hundred thousand. Those signings get me excited,
Whenever I’ve seen that Mpanzu play for Luton I’ve always been impressed, has a good engine on him and is someone I could see suiting the Struber style. Could easily slot in as a holding mid allowing Mowatt to play more forward. With him coming from Luton too I can’t see wages being too much of a problem for us. That Cornick from Luton is a decent player too. Other than that, majority on that list are either too old or will be on big wages.
The players that we could afford and/or attract on that list are all generally sh*t, years out of form, too old, or injury prone.
There’s some seriously old players in that list, I’d expect some to move down the divisions. I’ve always liked Jonny Williams at Charlton but he’s so damn injury prone there’s probably no point in signing him. A contract that takes into account his game time wouldn’t be so bad though.
Me too. I like getting players no one has really heard of either. I'm on board with the developing youngsters but, I just want some flexibility with loans and the odd experienced player too.
He made a big difference to Charlton's promotion push but as you say he is injury prone. Plus I think hes a southerner at heart, he said he felt really lonely at Sunderland.
Yeah I can’t imagine we’d be looking at him with his injury record and as well if he’s not keen on a move up north.
Think a lot of players on that list might be regretting not sorting out a contract in the hope of getting a better deal due to no fee and being avail on a free at the end of the season. I think and hope to see footballers wages to comeback to the real world with the landscape of football to change dramatically.
Yeah hooed we would go for him before he moved to blackburn a while back. Sam winnalls next move will be interesting is he the same player after a long time bench warming and injured? Can he still score regular in the championship?
