We were 6 points behind Bolton who were 3rd (albeit we did have 3 games in hand on them)

We have now played the same number of games as them and are 11 points clear.

We were also 12 points behind the Massives. It's now 5 points behind them with a game in hand.

and were 14 points behind Plymouth. The gap is now down to 5 points

I always thought we were in with a shout for automatic as it was clear how well the team was coming together.

The machine had a bit of a blip on Tuesday but I never thought that the wheels would come off. We now need to go back on another run like the previous one, right through to the end of the season. Hopefully that will be we enough.

Think back six or so months and I thought we might scrape 5th from the bottom…. What a turnaround!

If we knew what the outcome was going to be no one would watch.

Ever heard of punctuation? A few full stops and commas and that would have been quite readable.

It’s been an incredible run. Still think we’ll come up just short. If the season was 3 or 4 games more we’d do it.
Hope I’m wrong and we storm it though…..

I don’t think I was quite that pessimistic but I was thinking somewhere mid table was the likely outcome nice to be wrong again

My mate in the pub regular taunts me about what I’d said around early autumn about our season. I said at best we’d be mediocre, with inconsistency and naivety abound. I also said I couldn’t see anything beyond a Mid-table finish. My defence is no-one could’ve foreseen this transformation and brilliant man-management of the players. At least I didn’t have us in free-fall to League 2;)

Before a ball was kicked, I think I had us down for a stable and uninspiring mid table, 14th place sort of season.
The expectation levels have grown though as the season has moved on, and I'd be disappointed now if we don't stay in the top 4.
But that then does mean the lottery of the Play offs, where anything can happen.

Don't spoil it. It's fun trying to decipher posts like that. A workout for the brain, without any of that Wordle cobblers.
