Well well. Absolutely thoroughly deserved from Bivol. Always fun to see Eddie Hearn’s face in the ring, when one of his cash cows lose a fight.

Just bit off a bit more than he could chew. Bivol boxed great, Canelo’s still great.

Kovalev been shot & the poor showings our lads Saunders & Smith put up probably gave Canelo false confidence about what he could do at a higher weight

was really surprised at how good bivol was. outboxed the best pound for pound in a generation. very impressive. also probably puts out any hope of canelo usyk, I reckon

Glad the WBA didn't bow to calls to not let him fight for being Russian. He did very well defending his title against a Boxing legend. They should have a rematch despite it being a UD as the cards were rightly close.

I think he needs someone to come to him to look good. He’s had a few opponents who didn’t really belong in the ring with him & they were only interested in surviving 12 rounds.

Bivol is technically excellent, as we saw. Pure, raw boxing ability that was always going to make this Canelo’s toughest fight to date.

Classy in defeat though and pushed himself to the limit in terms of moving up to 175. He’d fare better against the other champions, Smith and Bebertiev, because styles makes fight and Bivol’s is one that will always cause Canelo problems at the higher weight.

He made Canelo look past it . I think the scorecards were off . I had canelo winning 3 rounds .

All about opinions innit. I don’t study boxing very closely, but from what I saw I thought it was a clear win for Pivol. Never stopped coming forward. Punches in bunches. Never looked in trouble. Not sure where Canelo was ever 3 rounds ahead. From his body language immediately at the final bell, I think even he knew he’d not done enough.

I mean Canelo only won 3 rounds ! Out punched, out boxed and his footwork was way too slow !

Ah yeah I misread as ‘winning by 3 rounds’. My bad. Agreed.
