Nasty ******* took my great friend Ali, yesterday. She’d had a seizure in May when on holiday in Cornwall. Diagnosed as terminal & gone less than 3 months later, at 57. High ranking police officer in Lincolnshire, but staunch animal rights activist. Would secretly tip me off about illegal activities which she wasn’t allowed to act on, beyond alerting the wildlife crime unit. I would mobilise saboteurs & activists, without involving Ali, with some success. Mainly w@nkers messing with badger setts. She retired to Wales a couple of years ago & got properly active. Should have been enjoying retirement & following her passion for nature, but now criminally cut short by this rotten disease. My football gripes just got a proper dose of perspective. So long, dear friend.
Sorry about the loss of your friend at a time when she should have been enjoying her retirement. RIP Ali
I lost a DJ friend of mine, Steve Wilkinson about a month ago. He just made 60, but had been fighting for 8 years.
i'm in the process of making arrangements to attend an old army mates funeral (65 yo wo1 lynx pilot and qhi) i'd known for 47 years to this dirty stinking f**king disease, his wife had to watch him waste away, if you did that to a dog you'd be fined/locked and called alsorts
It’s awful mate. Maybe it’s a blessing Ali went so quickly. Her funeral is in Lincoln & I’m sure she’ll get a police guard of honour..
