Having listened to Duffs post match interview you can tell he’s as miffed as everyone else. He keeps alluding to emotion which he clearly has acknowledged. It’s also only one game in and he has recognised that the players haven’t listened to instruction or game planning all week. I trust him to to gradually build on things. Also interesting that he admitted that we tried to sign the Plymouth goal scorer on loan as he’s worked with him before at Cheltenham but he said the argyle manager called in a favour from Steve Gerrard as they know each other and he was the difference today! Keep the faith everyone. Will look a better team in ten games or so. Trust me
He has recognised the players have not listened to him all week !!! If that doesn’t worry you , I don’t know what would !
What I meant was they didnt carry what was coached on to the pitch today. What plymouth did to us is what we should’ve been doing to them. Especially against their back 3. It will take time for the players to take it on board what is required of them
I disagree, Duff from day 1 has spoken with more passion and enthusiasm than either Poya & Schopp. He's also identified it & spoken clearly on it instead of beating around the bush. It's ONE game.
Fergie couldn't sort 'em out. We've sold our better players (except Brittain) and we're left with the crap no-one wants.
Allude suggest or call attention to indirectly; hint at. Elude escape from or avoid (a danger, enemy, or pursuer), typically in a skilful or cunning way. Think he was right in the first place, elude, avoid relegation
After two games last season we had 4 points... and look how that finished up. In the promotion under Hecky via playoff fi Al we were bottom at Christtmas. Give the headcoach and players time for goodness sake. M Duff is no fool he will get the team playing as a unit and cut out the deadwood and replace them as he gets to see how so e players perform in a proper competitive situation.
Personally don't think there's a problem with Duff, he clearly is competent at this level but I reckon Ferguson, Clough and Paisley in their primes would struggle to get a tune out of most of the squad Khaled and co. have lumbered him with.
I know it's only one game but that's not my point. I'm just pointing out that we were told by some posters that things would look totally different after x number of games. Hopefully that will turn out to be true this time round.
It's one game for Duff, he's got my full support. One game isn't enough to judge a new manager. Nor is it enough to judge the new players either. But the likes of Benson, cole and styles who've tossed it off for a year already. Well it's not one game for them and they're all useless. Likewise the chairman and owners. Not one game for them
We all know how cole got a contract here. His old man was seen at the well first. I bet you he offered to bring him down for peanuts and our board dived straight on it
I think duff needs a lot if patience he has one of the hardest jobs as a barnsley manager i can remember having his best strikers sold and replaced by frees, inheriting players like cole, benson, styles who really dont give a ****. Were still ****** from conways brain farts last summer window signing oulare and iseka on decent money. Dont envy his job one bit needs a few windows for a rebuild.
It isn't one game though is it, it's a continuation of last season the problems are the same no creativity in midfield dodgy defence poor up front.
