Kwasi Kwarteng confirms. Weren't they denying this last week? I think some folk who still work for a living are going to have cause to have some regrets they voted leave.

Where are the benefits of Brexit, again? Can any leave voters list some?

I saw a post on twitter today of a business owner that went into considerable technical detail regarding the hoops and costs he'd had to jump through to try and get ready for January. The nutshell, his products will rise in price just to factor in the time taken to deal with customs and rules of origin information as well as the costs for processing the information on the UK system (I didn't know there was a monthly cost for accessing the UK system to calculate and inform the UK just how much they'll be getting). But ultimately, he's decided once his kids have finished their education, he'll be relocating to mainland Europe. And this isn't a one off.

There are so many examples of EU businesses who have decided not to supply the UK anymore and many UK businesses who are deciding not to supply into the EU because of friction, time and cost.

But of course, the media aren't focusing on it and are much more interested on what the orange psychopath will do before he's dragged out of his bunker. God forbid we had such wall to wall coverage of our nearest neighbours democracies and more footage of the decision making structures and reasoning!!!

If you don’t like the forum don’t post on it or just ignore the threads you have no interest in. If you need any further life tips give me a shout.

Not sure if its the same one but I saw this one a couple of days ago - it makes for very depressing reading . Not only have the government by perusing a policy of leaving the single market and customs union made life much more difficult they have done it in such an inept way it looks like wilful sabotage - you really couldn't do it this badly by accident.

When Johnson said Fvck Business its the one time he wasnt lying

Still as the brexiters would say time to believe more and move on - no idea where to mind, can someone point me to where I can find the unicorns grazing on the sunlit uplands or summat

Not even getting any pleasure out of saying I told you so its just so depressing

we also get fewer holidays than most.
Bearing in mind that the working time directive gives us rights that the Tories promised they wouldnt remove why do they want to scap it
or is it just possible they were lying and a large proportion of the electorate either didnt believe them or didnt care

Isnt it blue passports ( which are worth a lot less than the previous ones )
the abilitity to send pakistani and Indian immigrants home
And the ability to stop anyone buying our fish

I think if you have a career in HM Customs and Excise it may turn out quite good for you but for everyone else..

That's the one! Thanks for posting it. I'd recommend every one to read it and understand the detailed mechanisms that are now in place that hinder trade with the EU in both directions.

HEMA, DPD, Neuhaus, Debenhams, Fortnum & Mason and others already ceased trading with EU/UK in one direction or another. Rules of origin were waived through without much thought and are going to be a huge burden for those trading, and in the pockets of those buying.

There are suggestions that (in general) pensioners keep voting against the interest of the workers. This will get worse as the average age gets older.

This is a forum for Barnsley fans to discuss whatever takes their fancy, NOT a football forum. It never has been, and hopefully never will be, just a football forum.

The company I work for install card payment terminals for most of the major providers we now have to disclose the country of origin of every piece of equipment we install so much for the bonfire of red tape they've just made everything much more complicated.
It's just a pity that the brains trust that is the average Tory / Brexit voter will still swallow the spin that it's all that nasty EUs fault and still vote for Bojo and his clown troop.

If anyone truly believes this Govt, or any. Tory govt for that matter, will review and change working conditions for the benefit of the worker then they are sadly deluded. Oh, they will try and sell it otherwise but we are sleepwalking back into the past when it comes to employment rights.
