Always liked Brentford. Their fans forum review of the match http://www.griffinpark.org/forums/showthread.php?t=128698 They sound like a well balanced and reasonable bunch. Nice to read supporters not just slag the opposition off (bar our time wasting it seems), but accept we came to slow them down and disrupt them. And try to win it last 20-30 minutes. Also, one of their fans seems to suggest the prospective new owners were there watching the match (page 3). Not heard that mentioned elsewhere. Interesting.
Wow, no #teamslikebarnsley, no slagging off their fellow contributors, fair and balanced views ... impressive ... respect from me
Lived round there for a couple of years. Fine set of fans. Well balanced. Proper old school set of lads.
Sounds like some very balanced reviews , interestingly Davies receives the plaudits from the Brentford faithful & I notice he has been spared from his recent stick he has been receiving from the "we must have a scapegoat brigade "
"a Barnsley team who to their credit defended exceptionally well" I'll take comments like that all day long.
They have a pretty good forum judging from the short time I've spent on it. Much better than the usual Sunday morning read on other forums.
The only thing I would disagree with was the time wasting thing. Yiadom was booked for it, but I'm not sure it was his intention, as we were slow with most of our throw ins due to to the lack of movement from our players. Our throws may as well be given directly to the opposition, as we lose possession so quickly from them.
Maybe we should practice taking foul throws. That way the opposition could get all the throw-ins and we could pressure them and win the ball back.
We walked to tube station after game , got talking to a few of their fans , one said it was the worst game he had seen . I thought Brentford looked good first half , second half it was more even .
Eh? He didn’t put a foot wrong yesterday so hasn’t had anything said against him. When he has ****** up recently he’s received criticism.
He played really well and that should be said. Wouldn't overly praise hin until he does it more often. I think he has had more poor game than good ones this season. Yesterday shows how good he can be and hopefully with he hard work I assume he is putting in he might be able to improve his constitancey.
I think his form has dipped recently but so has a lot of others , when you lose five on the trot it is not just down to your goalkeeper however he has taken a lot of stick on here lately but the silence about his performance yesterday, is deafening
“Our Achilles heel is not breaking down teams like Barnsley” said ******* Championship giants. Brentford. Ffs.
I praised him earlier and have heard other too. He got a great reception at the end of the game when he can over to the corner where the tunnel was. He has been up and down all season even before the run of 5. Now as I say this is almost to be expected like the rest of the team he is young. I think he really could do with some competition though. If nothing else sometimes when a keeper is on a bad run they need to be taken out of the firing line.
I read that more like "teams" around or below us. I have some sympathy we were absoulety there for the taking in the first half and Brentford were terrible in the final 3rd. Now why does that sound familiar?
