    Surprised at that, thought he'd go straight to a premier league team - I'm sure the big boys were looking at him at some point.

    Someone else on here was talking about us potentially being asset stripped by bigger teams - it's certainly happened to Walsall, and we've played our part in that by signing Bradshaw. Had we not been gone up last season I think we'd have been looking at the same kind of comprehensive overhaul that they are now, and I don't think we'd have got anywhere near £5m for any one of our players in League 1. Shows how small the margins can be.

    I can. There were lots of bottlers that were moved on, that are struggling to get starting places for their new clubs.

    The best players - Henry, Bradshaw, Demetriou and Saywers will be missed, but have been replaced well.

    We won't challenge, but I'll be surprised if we get relegated, unless Whitney completely loses the plot.

    The next breed of kids will come through, as it always does....yet people still refer to Crewe as the successful production line.
