https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/22674/break-clause-in-poya-deal-but-no-decision-made-yet I’d say goodbye now.
Yep, I'd just skip to the end and part ways now. Just as an aside, can anyone remember the last time we had a single season where we had two permanent managers that have failed as spectacularly as these last two?
Small mercies and all that. I fully expected there to be a clause in his contract should we be relegated. Just as I suspect there is a preset compensation level should anyone be interested in taking him.
Brilliant news. I think a lot of people had assumed/hoped there would be a clause in there, but it’s good to have that confirmed. I’m guessing the clause is dated, so exercising that now would technically be sacking him and compo would kick in? From what I’ve seen from Poya, I’m not even sure how ar$ed he is about staying. He’s never looked like he really gives a fk. I’m thinking Khaled may also have a break clause, which hasn’t really been discussed. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he also leaves the Club when we get relegated. Either way, I’m expecting to see Poya’s contract terminated at around 18.00 on 7th May, and if Khaled has a break clause he’d be on his way as well.
Flicker and Danny Wilson were both pretty poor. I've felt more optimism in the last dozen games than I did in that second stint by Danny.
"The decision will be made so that when pre-season starts everything will be in place.” Chuffing hell, we usually leave it until the day before the season starts !! Then PANIC !
Hardly unexpected. I'd be more interested if somehow we had a break clause that we could activate to get shut of the owners.
The decision will be mutual says Khaled. Is that yet another example of Khaled not having a great grasp of English or is the contract one that both have to agree to him leaving? If it’s mutual then every contract has a break clause it’s called a pay off.
I quite like the idea of an avenue of Barnsley flags on lampposts all the way from the train station to the ground. Wouldn't cost much either in the grand scheme of things.
Yep can’t be arsed with a manager/head coach who is only happy to hold onto a 1-0 lead and then not even try to score another goal. Thanks Poya and all the best in the future.
Aye, in the same way that he muddles "entertaining football" and "boring shìte". These things are easily done.
I've some sympathy for him. He's proven in recent weeks that over 60 minutes we're more than good enough to stay up. However beyond 60 minutes we have 2 huge problems - fitness is massively lacking, and our bench is woeful. This leaves him with 2 choices - continue with knackered players or swap them out for utter dross. Either way we're losing points.
Another media post trying to suggest poya will be sacked to justify us buying season tickets . It’s getting sickly now
