Managed to get rid of some deadwood and took our fleet the next level.
A bit of hard bargaining was required. The car was available at the right price and neither party was desperate to buy or sell but ultimately both parties were happy.

Did they sell the wheels off it before you drove off the forecourt?

Did you maintain an interest in your trade in?

I've heard of those deals before. Not all they're cracked up to be apparently.

I know someone who's involved with one and the company owner has done exactly like you did. Got rid of what he considered deadwood (which is odd because those vehicles were being used regularly in the fleet while other vehicles were sat idle). It's caused a right problem because the fleet manager is pissed off that vehicles he knows the worth of to the company have been sold against his wishes and what they don't tell you when you sign up is that the new vehicles take a year or two to break in during which time you have to pussy foot around them and productivity drops massively.

He's also annoyed that his assistant fleet manager has been head hunted and the owner has sold his contract to another company so now he's got the van washer helping him instead.

Apparently the new deal comes with a clause that says for every mile forwards you have to do two miles backwards and to top it all off the cheeky buggers who own the company have pocketed the money from selling the vehicles and given the fleet manager smaller cheaper vehicles to replace them

The company was in the running for a big tender too but that's been withdrawn as they don't have enough capable vehicles ready to use straight away. Lost about £5m by losing that tender too. Still owners always know best...

Is this code for "we're getting rid of Lloyd and bringing a good player in"? Hope so.

I think Brad - 26 out of 35 games and 7 goals from midfield - Potts is being described as dead wood and a few none league kids are taking the fleet to the next level.

I did think that at first but then thought he couldn't have meant that. Logical thought goes out of the window when people are playing positivity top trumps though.

Surely he doesn't mean Potts. Probably Moncur but although he wouldn't have been the first name on my team sheet I wouldn't describe him as dead wood.

Bit harsh to label someone as deadwood after six months.

Perhaps my definition of dead wood is different to other peoples.

I can only assume that oxred thinks Stendel is a poor manager who picked deadwood every single week.

My assumption is that he is making a totally flawed argument to make himself look like the bestest supporter.
