Stayed there a few times before it’s in the perfect location for the pubs start at castle then flagship and go towards Manchester bar in the day then back to get changed and go the opposite direction at night. There’s an overnight car park 2 streets down aswell which I’ve always managed to get parked in although it’s not very big.

You could stay at Grand Hotel that used to be Hilton. Gynn Pub, William Hills, newsagents and a sandwich shop all in a two minute walk so can't go wrong. Up past the north pier too so much quieter and a steady 10-15 minute walk to central.

Mornington is more than decent, south end of the stretch though, straight up from the south pier - but only about a mile from the ground, maybe a 15 minute walk.

There’s a travelodge at the side of the stadium if you prefer to know exactly what to expect
