Dispensing Power. That the pretended Power of Suspending of Laws or the Execution of Laws by Regall Authority without Consent of Parlyament is illegall. Late dispensing Power. That the pretended Power of Dispensing with Laws or the Execution of Laws by Regall Authoritie as it hath beene assumed and exercised of late is illegall. Could be a tricky few days for Mr Jeremy Wright QC and Mrs May!
Going to be interesting to see how they can get this one past the judges, but this is the legal world and stranger things have happened. I can see why they want to do it - the majority of MPs were against and they could struggle to win a vote without forcing MPs to vote for it. Which would only lead to a widening of the cracks in the Tory party or an embarrassing loss for her.
68% of those who voted in Barnsley supported Brexit - how will Jarvis et al vote should Article 50 etc come before the commons ? I think overall about 7 out of 10 Labour MP's represent a Brexit voting constituency. Cracks in mainstream politics abound. On a slightly flippant note, it's a shame Milliband and the rest weren't as vocal and as forensic in their wish to examine the process where powers were transferred to the EU in the first place.
never mind what YOU personally voted for,if dan Jarvis votes to remain if there is a parliamentary vote but 68% of the people he was elected to represent voted leave should he be sacked/deselected or whatever it is the do to get shut for not doing his job, hes blatently not doing what the electorate mandated him to do
Whichever way you voted (or didn't), the result has caused greater disruption to the country than anything for generations - and nothing has actually been done yet! The pound has fallen to its lowest level in generations, petrol and food prices are rising rapidly as a result (Unilever have put 10% on wholesale prices) and we are all going to be poorer because wages won't keep pace. In addition, race hate attacks jumped 40%+ immediately after the result. My personal opinion is that I can't see life in the UK being as good as it was in the last few years, within my lifetime - and I reckon I've got 30-40 years left. I despair for the younger generations, the majority of whom didn't want this.
A lot of that depends on the party leadership. A free vote would be different to one where he follows the party whip - in the event that the Labour leadership decided to oppose.
I got some euros last week at 1-11.20 but can remember in about 2007/8 it being 1-02/1-03 so how does that work
There wasn't but you can't for a second think that the people of Barnsley wanted to send our troops to Syria. He said he based his decision on a few conversations at his surgery. He got slated across the board for his decision, on twitter, on here, in the papers. I couldn't find more than a handful of people that thought it was a good idea. Jarvis doesn't do whats best for this region, he does whats best for his political career.
ah so there wasn't one. that's my point about representing/not representing the people who voted you the job. i'm not bothered about how you voted ( its got nothing to do with me) its your choice and you have to live with it, what boils my p155 is the guy MAY totally ingnore over 2/3rds of the people in his constituency, its wrong
It fell 1% last Friday and has had four days of losses, including another 0.9% yesterday. Airport rates are now below 1, and it is expected to fall further over the next few weeks. Its actually the dollar that is the important one as crude oil is priced in it. We fall 10% against the $ and the price of petrol rises 10-15% as a result. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-37609114 http://www.exchangerates.org.uk/new...nge-rate-flat-after-four-days-of-losses-.html https://www.poundsterlinglive.com/gbp-live-today/5586-pound-to-euro-and-dollar-9994
so something else caused it in 08. the banks collapsed, massive worldwide recession. but this time people are saying its something ( brexit) that maynot happen and not even the experts can't agree on what will happen, if anything ! well I do...................................... we'll get through it, to be honest I think if the eu gave us 100% control over people movement and our borders it would be a different story
If the High Court case forces a vote then there is a dilemma for MP's. On the one hand, it can be argued that they should vote to respect the referendum result. On the other hand, if their view is that unconditional withdrawal from the EU would be harmful for most of their constituents (as is said to be the view of 75% of MP's) then they might feel that their conscience compels them to veto withdrawal. A further complication for Labour MP's is that a vote against triggering Article 50 would almost certainly lead to an early general election (after repeal of the FTPA) and an early chance for comrade Corbyn to assume power. Fun, innit?
