For taking me to friend Ali’s funeral. At an amazing place outside Market Raisen. & to Gosport Tyke, who also offered me a ride, but too big an ask. Thanks anyway, mate. x Will keep this brief (ish). I like reading similar stories, so not bothered about being boring. Lovely little road trip especially B roads getting there. We took my 17 year old terrier, Alf. Probably his last big day out. Great company with Darren & I think we just about straightened out everything wrong with BFC.. Very sad, but beautiful nature send off. Opened with the Orange Juice clip from Brassed Off, sweet.. Cardboard coffin emblazoned with her beloved cows. Interred in a lovely meadow, even with the rain. Vegan buffet. Odd being the only hunt sabbateur/AR activist in a room full of ex coppers (Ali was both). But at least the great work we did together for British wildlife, was recognised by her family & friends. She had written her own goodbye, sealed until today. Overriding sentiment is to be kind, always. & (also my own old adage) - just because you love your dog, doesn’t mean you care about animals. Don’t take out of the world/life, more than you can realistically put back. I’m going to leave the pay off line to Darren, because it really tickled him. Thanks for listening. C.
Can't beleive how this sill brings the hairs of my neck up. Can't imagine the emotions celebrating someone who as passed over. Lovely moving tribute ❤
Paul, it was an absolute pleasure to help you today and give your friend a send off. It was brilliant to meet you. As for Ali's last words..... Do I have any regrets? Yes. I should have told more people to Fu.ck off. Especially to their face with a smile on my face just to annoy them even more. Love it! See you again soon Paul
He’s had a lovely day out, mate. & didn’t mess up your car too much, I hope. He let a couple of farts go at the ‘service’ & I was worried I might have to excuse ourselves. Pretty sure that’s his last & probably only last big day out with me. Before he takes his last journey. Massive thanks for that alone. Wish I’d got a photo of Alf & me in my funeral/sab garb. A lot of thought went into that. & a couple of beers would have made me talk about Ali. Regrets?
Passing through Bawtrey, Kev, I told Darren about our meeting with Gordon Shepherd, when we had that comp for the London Tykes player sponsorship. Remember? Started with Jeronimo,(my decision & fault). ended up with a very stoned/hungover Gary O’Connor. Pitch side meeting eyes like piss holes, benched. The sponsor thing was transferred twice. Can’t remember the middle lad. Sure you will though!! Nice corporate day at the ‘Well. Laura has her charity thing going & I was helping. Gordon pledged.. I won’t say how much. Generous, though. Who did we play & did we win. Over to Biglil Barnsley Statto. (BBS)..
Remember the free lunch. You experimented with the vegan option. I said you didn’t have to, just because I was there. But you enjoyed it? Was that before or after Gary O’Connor crashed his Ferrari into a railway bridge & got his mate to take the rap?. Then he gave his white one away for charity. Try tell the young uns that. They won’t believe a word.
I DID enjoy the meal. You got the best end of the deal, as you had me for company! Crystal dropped you off after the game. O'Connor's driving antics happened afterwards.
Those last words of your mate Mr C,inspired me to face my day and the idiots who try to spoil it ,probably still won’t be telling them to F off,but in my head I will and be better for it,maybe the odd one if they really deserve it
