Silly question loko but is it all the board who are up for re-election or just some of them? And when will members be notified of and given information about the candidates? Also is the vote only in person or would all paid members enable to vote via other means?

    Just curious really.

Hesitant to answer this as I'm not as skilled on the constitution as others on the board. I think your term is three years maximum before the need for re-election, with a board made of a minimum of six and a maximum of 12. So you have four people stand each year alongside any new nominations, getting you to the three year turnover.

Again, not completely sure, but it's on the night given you need paid members to be the ones voting.

Cheers loko. I had no real reason for asking except I'm really nosey and wondered how similar it was to local parish councils and things

I was expecting to see some kind of 3/400 word box to give something for someone to "Sell themselves" to the voter's.

Or do they stand up with a bit of a speech type thing to sell themselves on the night.

I'm more interested in seeing if those who bash away on their keyboards in anger about the ST actually decide to apply themselves....

Do they need to sell themselves though? Isn’t it just more of a formality really? I honestly dunno, I just kind of assumed if you put yourself forward you get accepted on…unless it gets to a point where there’s more nominees than places?

Well this is where it could lead to accusations IMO.

If someone was so vocal (I'm sure we could all think of a few). It always surprises me when anyone literally has the opportunity to stand for election, that they don't. But will then cite they had no real opportunity to sell themselves if it's a formality.

So I guess I'm just wondering how they would actually go about it.

I might add, I only signed up recently, so don't have any desire to pile in and cause agro. Maybe next year if we find ourselves staring at league 2 and still nothing has changed. I'm ok with the process they sent out today, it should give some clear indication I would have thought when all is collated.

There’s three separate boxes of 200 words max essentially doing what you’ve said. They get taken as your manifesto with your application form.

Ah right. So that application form is page one of x

That's good. In that case be interesting to see of any new candidates (or existing ones rewording any existing manifesto) and what they wish to stand for.

Nobody can say they don't have the opportunity then, which is what I was getting at

Looks like a good event and a real opportunity for people to stand up and be counted either through election or just as a voice. Is the dates right and has the last Annual General Meeting been over 2 years ago? Good luck with the meeting and hopefully helps take the ST forward.

Adie Moses is the nicest bloke I've ever met. Absolute gent who would happily talk to you about the reds for hours.

Although he'd prefer it if you asked him about his volley at home to Norwich, rather than his own goal at Elland Road ;)
