Barnsley Football Club celebrated a fantastic evening at the 2024/25 Annual Awards Dinner, held in the company of players, staff, supporters and club partners as we reflected on the season at Oakwell. Hosted at Oakwell in the Natural Cement Legends Suite, the night was filled with appreciation, pride and a few laughs, as we recognised outstanding contributions across the Club, from the Academy through to the First Team. Here are the winners from the evening: ACADEMY PLAYER OF THE YEAR – JOSHUA KENCHINGTON Catching the eye of England in 2025, the Reds youngster has impressed within the youth setup at Oakwell and was selected by Academy Manager, Bobby Hassell to as this year's winner of what is a prestigious award. PLAYER’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR – DAVIS KEILLOR-DUNN Voted for by his teammates, Davis Keillor-Dunn earned the ultimate dressing room accolade. A tireless contributor and talismanic figure, his performances and attitude both on and off the pitch have been first-class and recognised by his fellow professionals. YOUNG PLAYERS OF THE YEAR – KIEREN FLAVELL, FÁBIO JALÓ & JONATHAN BLAND In a break from tradition, this year saw three of our brightest prospects share the Young Player of the Year award. Goalkeeper Kieren Flavell, forward Fábio Jaló and versatile talent Jonathan Bland were all honoured for their individual excellence and impact during the season, espcially since the appointment of Head Coach Conor Hourihane who has placed his trust in the younger members of the squad. GOAL OF THE SEASON – JON RUSSELL VS PETERBOROUGH A pearler at Oakwell on Easter Monday! Jon Russell’s sensational strike against Peterborough United was voted Goal of the Season by the audience in the Natural Cement Legends Suite on the night. WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE YEAR Skippering the side in a successful campaign for Barnsley FC Women, Charley Evans was recognised as Women’s Player of the Year for her commanding performances, leadership and unwavering work rate. Her influence at both ends of the pitch proved invaluable, and she continues to be a driving force for the side as picked by Head Coach, Jess Horsley. MEN’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR – DAVIS KEILLOR-DUNN Capping off a superb evening, Keillor-Dunn made it a double by taking home the Club’s prestigious Player of the Year award, as voted for by the supporters. A richly deserved honour for a player who has epitomised commitment, quality and consistency throughout the season. Currently sitting on 17 goals in all competitions, our forward will be looking to add to his tally in the remaining games of the season.
