[BFC SITE] Donovan Pines reflects on cup victory

Following his first start at Oakwell since his return from injury, Donovan Pines gave his thoughts on yesterday's clash with Sheffield United.

The American defender praised the team's performance against the Blades and the unity the team showed to get the result over the line.

“It was awesome. It was a pleasure to start tonight, and you know, get another win and go to the next round.

"I think we are growing each game, and Marc (Roberts) as a leader that he is was coaching me in the back line and developing my habits and leadership.

“As a collective, we did a great job communicating and that’s what helped us get over the line at the end of the day”.

The Reds travel to Crawley Town in Sky Bet League One this weekend, looking to make it successive away wins in the league after victory on the road last time out against Lincoln City.

Despite the delight in securing passage to the third round of the Carabao Cup, the 25-year-old maintains the focus is now on the next.

“We’ve just got to recover the best we can because everyone is gassed, you know after that game I could see it on everyone’s faces, but we've got to recover and get our legs and the little things right so we can go into Saturday full guns blazing”.
