Can anyone give me the odds for these games this week. I’m not a betting person so I’m a bit clueless tbh

    Arsenal to beat Chelsea
Man City to beat West Ham
    Huddersfield to beat Sheff Utd
    Brighton to beat Man Utd

Or more precisely what would a £5 stake return?

i can’t find my way around the betting sites to get the odds.

Not sure how to found out now they've all been played, Fired. Could individually find the odds pre-match for you, but doubt I'd be able to work out what a 5er would return on a 4-fold

That would have been a good return I should think, not that I ever bother.

I had an online Betway account once (for about six months) and sometimes found myself watching grainy pictures of online tennis matches in Bolivia or somewhere hoping that my player would win the next game, to win me £1.50 or something. I'd be betting as much as 50p, or even a pound, on football matches in progress hoping that the score at 80 minutes wouldn't change. Sometimes I won a few quid, but mostly I didn't.

The excitement was too much, so I had to give it up. :D

I used this to get the past odds: https://www.oddsportal.com/football/england/premier-league/results/

    Arsenal 61/100
    Man City 19/100
    Huddersfield 279/100
    Brighton 23/20

£5 accumulator on those 4 games would get you £73.06

Great thanks. I don’t really understand the odds, but that’s good enough.

My daughter had to put a bet on as part of a part time “Challenge 18” job she has. She rang me for a bet - I didn’t have much time to think about it or study odds so I just gave her those four results. (she usually asks my husband but he was out). Not sure what stake she ended up putting on, but it’s the first time she’s won one.

If she went into a betting shop to put them on, the odds would probably have been lower.

Great stuff! Worth noting too that the odds will vary slightly from bookie to bookie, but should be a good estimate!

Yes she did. Don’t they give your “potential return” on the receipt?

Ironically my other daughter works for Bet 365 as a coder - she knows her way around all this stuff but isn’t allowed to bet!!

She’s just sent me a photo of what she wrote on the slip.
    She just put
    Arsenal
    Man City
    Brighton
    Huddersfield to win

She hasn’t put a date or opponent on.
    Does that matter?

Since it's such a small amount to win relative to the billions the betting company has, they *should* pay out. I have absolutely no doubt they'd contest it though if she put on 5k!

    P.s well done to her!

Well - they were my predictions ….. but she goes into the shop and gets ID’d and puts the random bet on. I don’t think I’d dare. She actually gets paid for it too!

Well done to you! * :D

Out of interest, why wouldn't you dare? Haven't been in a betting shop since about 21. Used to make it a habit to go with my mates on a friday afternoon day before the football. Go have a beer, a bit of snap, go put our bets on, then we'd do a daft 1 quid bet on like a 15-fold, watch the old fellas in the shop raging at live horse racing, then go out for another drink - good times. :)

Do it online now when I do decide to have a bet

I just think it’s the fear of the unknown. I just see bookies as a male preserve and because I don’t really understand the odds I would feel very out of place.

Ironically, I’d have no problem walking into a pub, ordering a drink and sitting alone.

My daughter has been challenged for ID every time she has been given a job in a Bookies, and has said that the staff have been brilliant. However, I think sometimes she has put on tiny stakes that probably cause suspicion.

I think i could work my way round a betting slip, but the betting sites just confuse me. I can’t navigate them. I joined one to watch a Barnsley game online, and it took me ages to work out what I had to do.

Not sure what it's like these days, but I'd say atleast 50% of the customers when I used to go in only had small bets. Between 1-10£ usually - mostly just those accumulators with 15 teams on haha. I dont think she, or you, should feel like you'd make anyone suspicious. Loads of profit is made for betting companies from those silly little bets, especially with huge odds, so I think they'd welcome you with open arms!

The betting sites can be a right mess to deal with when new. I only use bet365 now, wouldn't even know what the other sites look like. I actually use the decimal system, made it so much easier for me. As with everything these days however, you get inundated with countless promotions and boosts etc

Happy to leave it to my other half - he can have the benefit of my very limited knowledge.
Pretty sure my daughter has no interest at all.

Aye it's a very slippery game to get involved in. Remember winning just short of a grand when I first started from just a tenner, I couldn't believe how easy it was. Within 30 minutes it was gone and I was putting loads of my own money in to get it back, absolutely fuming. Lost all my wages, was a very tough pill to swallow at just 19 years old on a minimum wage job!

My nephew did the same thing when he turned 18 on online slots/casino. spent about a tenner and he won about £600 by betting his free bet on green on a roulette table. Withdrew it, but it took 3-5 days. He got restless and cancelled the withdrawal and lost it all within 10 minutes.
