But that was a very worrying performance.

People on here just make me laugh. Not because they have criticised what was obviously a poor performance but the oh so predictable cliches. Whenever we lose it is lack of effort and a disgrace ( not the first time I’ve pointed this out). We also shouldn’t lose to a League 2 side ever. Tell that to the other three Championship sides that lost to lower opposition.

To me it wasn’t about lack of effort. In some ways I might even feel better if it was. We lost to a fourth division side who were much better than us. Their passing and movement was good and they carried a genuine goal threat. Our passing was embarrassingly bad and we had little or no goal threat. We shouldn’t over-react, but there’s no getting away from the fact that we were very very poor.

This is spot on but we are where we are. The players at the Coaches disposal aren’t going to change for a long time. And as others have pointed out, we’ll know better at the end of October what kind of Season we’ve in for.
These are young players. Most are strangers to each other and this level of football. There are going to be some very inconsistent performances but we’ll have to get more used to that.
It will be interesting to see which ones show the necessary character and growth in performance.
