I was out in the car park of a local village pub on Saturday lunchtime with My eldest' family and the current Mrs. DR. It was good to have a pint of draught for the first time this year but I will wait until after the 17th before I go there again. It was cold and the heaters provided seemed to keep themselves warm rather than anyone else. I seem to remember that May last year was much warmer. However, the owners seemed to be happy with the arrangement and they were getting fully booked, which is good news for them and us punters in the longer term as I can seem more pubs going to the wall this year one way or another.
Being a Yorkshireman it does have its good points this weather . A pint lasts nearly all afternoon It’s like an everlasting gob stopper
I'm not a big drinker for health reasons, but I've been out quite a bit since pubs reopened to support my local(s). However been drinking brilliant hoppy craft beers and sours since lockdown, the traditional hand pull ale was quite the let down.
Feel for pubs today. This weather wouldn't have mattered if they didn't have to wait another week to let people inside. One death announced today and you can only have a bank holiday pint outside in the rain and cold. Our country is bonkers.
Why was it a let down, out of interest? Do you reckon your tastes have changed, or was there something wrong with it?
Terrible weather for them, to be honest I was sat out on the decking Sunday evening while the kids were on the trampoline and I did think this is too cold to be sat with a cold pint.
