    Team player.....part of the greatest Yorkshire team and therefore County cricket team in history....tick

    But hang on........T20 didnt exist then so he never played a scoop shot so he must have been crap.

    The latest wind up form HT is to drag everyone into having a go at Rooney so he can turn round and quote a 19 year old as saying he's the best player he's played against. Crikey.....compared to all the other worls stars he's faced in his 19 years.
    For what it's worth I think Rooney has been a good player. Never fulfilled his early potential. He's England's top scorer because he's decent and he's played a lot of games against gimme opposition. But when it REALLY counted at major tournaments, when other players have stepped up and delivered.......he hasn't.

    Rooney may as well have retired internationally after Euro 2004. Done fvck all since for England when it matters.

    His international goals to games ratio is worse than Peter Crouch and they've had a similar effect in major tournaments.
