If any of you are heading into town early on Saturday, and have not yet decided which band to go and see between 1-2pm, could I urge you to give Wrath a try at Soho Social? Reason being it’s my son’s band and probably the youngest band playing on the day. The band are all 15 years old and are all studying music in year 10 at Penistone Grammar School, apart from the singer who’s a year older and preparing for the gig by sitting his GCSEs. The band have been together for a year, in fact my son’s only been playing guitar for a year, and whilst they are very much still in the learning phase they are improving all the time. Their drummer, in particular, is quite a talent and has been sitting in on professional gigs all over the north of England. The singer, another Reds fan like my son, is a relatively new addition though and this will only be his 4th time singing in public. Their name conjures up a thrash metal band, but they’re not. They’ll mainly be doing a mix of rock covers, but may do one of the songs that my son has written with the drummer. It’s a fantastic opportunity for them and they are so grateful for being given this chance, so any support they can be given would be very much appreciated.
