attended yesterday, and was impressed but gutted at the result

Reading were a very good very well organised and skillful team make no bones about that. If I am honest they were better on the day than us. But that said I came away happy in many respects. Happy because I saw a team putting in a shift, and that was each and every one of them. I saw a team very together.... a team encouraging one another and working for one another. I saw a team with skill and courage. I saw a team to be proud of... EVERY ONE OF THEM tried to run through that wall for us and the shirt. We will do well with this team and we will be ok this season, I am not worried if do not get into the top 6, I will be happy with a middle table position with a strong team. That will be a progression and an achievement to be proud of...of course I would be thrilled if we do end up in the promotion mix at the end of the season.

Oh and also one other thing I came away with feeling happy and proud of..... was the fans... the atmosphere was really great... and they did IMHO help they players too. And at the end when the players came to applaud the fans... the rendition of "WE LOVE YOU BARNSLEY..WE DO...WE LOVE YOU BARNSLEY WE DO" was truly fantastic and made me proud of it all, and I am sure that to the players and Hecky and his staff it also meant a helluva lot too.

I enjoyed the day totally apart from the result... was good to see yourself and Ian and was good to take a trip to Hoyland after a long time from home... hopefully it will not be too long till I return to be a jinx again
