Think we should go for Leicester's George Hirst (available for loan apparently). https://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/...s/leicester-city-prospects-loaned-out-4476043 No idea how good he is ... but it would really really p*ss the Wednesday fans off. Go on PC, you know it makes sense
George Hirst would be a good shout, for sure. Looks a good prospect who has been messed around by the system, but really should already have had a full season of games behind him. He is just going to stew at Leicester behind their big stars. We don't do many loanees, but I would try for a cheeky bid for a permanent at this stage. Good record in academy football.
Would think Leicester would like to see him as a first team regular to gain more experience. Not sure we could offer that. Would be worth a punt as he appears to be the target man we lack. And give us that option if Struber needs to change tactics during a game. Clubs want their players to develop elsewhere not spend a season playing for someone else’s u23s for example. Especially if they’re paying most of his wages.
Hirst would be good to wind up the owls, but of the list mentioned that George Thomas would be the one I would go after. Played a few times at the end of the season to cover for an injury to Chilwell and looked great in the games he played. Could be an ideal replacement for Ben Williams for a year.
