Cooked apple. The only thing worse that that is wet bread.

Just this second put my apple cake in the oven, when that comes out my treacle sponge goes in, I've discovered that basic baking is very therapeutic.
We were sent home from work, so rather than watch ***** ont telly I've donned me apron and got stuck in.

    Rhubarb Crumble is far superior.

Apple crumble and custard is the best dessert there is.

Apple pie, and custard (shortcrust pastry mindst) is the ultimate dessert. I do like Rhubard crumble as well and sticky toffee pudding, jam rollypoly, and can be more cosmopolitan when enjoying a Tiramusu.

Depends how much sugar you put it. Cooking apples are pretty far from sweet.

Love treacle sponge. Was considering pineapple upside down cake but daughter had used the tin of pineapple so it'll have to be bread and butter pudding.

Always batch bake a load of apple and blackberry crumbles in the autumn ready for winter. Unfortunately I hate custard so it's cream or ice cream for me.

I know there may be more important issues but -----

In Merthyr we call the black stuff 'treacle' and the golden stuff 'syrup.'

In Barnsley both the black and golden stuff are called 'treacle.'

If that's right then (in Barnsley) what is 'syrup.'
