What a performance ! The whole team did well but he proved haters wrong today. Great game all highs except Payne hope he recovers soon.

    Your thoughts on Angus MacDonald?

Don't think he ever had any haters?

Agree though, he was very good despite the huge step up and is lack of fitness.

Played very well. Still thinks he makes decisions that are maybe a risk will sort those out in due time. Really pleased with him and hope he gets regular football this season!

It would be churlish to highlight the aspects of his game that obviously need attention, on a day when all the team, especially in the second half, were wonderful.

Just being honest mate. The team were brilliant second half and Angus should be proud of himself after his performance, despite such a step up. Not being negative!

Wasn't tested much. Couple of errors but grew into the game.

Sound performance. Gave the ball away a few times at the start, but grew into it. Good debut

Bloke at the back of me wanted him subbing after 20 mins for misplacing two passes. The lad looks quick, powerful, good in the air and willing to look for a pass. Impressed with him to say the levels he has stepped up to play today. By no means perfect but bloody hell there's a lot of potential there. Same as we have done with many others, give them time, minutes, good coaching to develop and a lot of support then we might just have another gem on our hands

I meant that it would be churlish for anyone to point out the horror of some of Big Mac's fright night passes.

    Not getting at you.

    He let nobody down.

Made a couple of mistakes in the first half but grew into the game.

Looked a lot better in the second half despite been out on his feet & grabbing gels & a drink at every opportunity

You need lots of gel to keep the blonde highlights spikey.

Considering everything,I think it was a great debut!
Reminded me of a certain Marc Roberts when he first arrived and look at him now.
He will improve every week due to a combination of his own hard work and top draw input from Hecky and the other coaches at the cub.
He should be proud of his debut contribution, as I am of all the team, for their much improved second half performance

Fair play mate. I don't even know what churlish means so just assumed it was something negative haha

Impressed with the lad and he's only gonna get better!

Couldn't have asked for anymore from him, he was fantastic. League debut in the second tier in an home South Yorkshire derby with all eyes on you after replacing a big money transfer. All after jumping a number of leagues and not being match sharp due to being a bench warmer. He did a couple of dodgy passes that could have put us in bother, but early signs are we have a good player.

I think he did well considering the step up, against very limited opposition.

Ward beat him in the air a few times early on, but he seemed to gain control as the game went on.

I do think we need 2 centre backs before the window closes though. MacDonald may be ready for regular football in another 6 months, but I don't think he is yet.
