Got to say I’m very surprised to see or rather not that we haven’t appealed Mads’s sending off? I know sometimes they can increase the ban but it was never ever a sending off. Barnsley never seem to appeal where other clubs do. I have seen it numerous times and think it was a very very soft penalty, I know we have given a few away when they get goal side of the defence but it was 6 of one half dozen of other and started outside the box , you could argue Norwood went to ground easily against Fleetwood but compare the two one kills the game when there was defensive cover the other through on goal ( to the wide left) bundled to the ground not even a pen and if it wasn’t why no booking for Norwood?
Absolutely no chance of it being overturned, they wont go back and decide Mads should have been given a foul before they get into the box and once in the box he brings down Collins - you can argue he went down easily but there was contact and the ref at the time decided it was a foul - there isnt enough evidence on video to show a clear error. Again Kitchen was closing in but had Mads not impeded him Collins could have got a shot away before Kitching arrived - many refs would not have shown a red but by the letter of the law Mr Speedie was within his rights to deem a red appropriate and its not a clear enough error to merit overturning it in my opinon Also Mads only misses a cup game and is back for the next League game - appealing risks him missing the Charlton game instead - its not worth it How Norwood was handled in another game is totally irrelevant
Think it's best we accept and move on let Mads have a rest and be ready for Charlton, league far more important than the FA cup nice if we do well but staying in the top 6 is the main thing.
Personally I think Mads needs the break. He’s had a couple of games with bad decisions against him. Might be good to let him refocus.
To be honest mate he made bad decisions in both cases with clumsy challenges ..... he dropped below usual good standards so let’s hope the break helps bring the best out of him again
Can only be overturned if the referee admits that he saw the incident incorrectly I believe. No chance of it being overturned, no point appealing.
know what you mean, but we've dropped on that he won't miss a league match and Edwards is back for cup match. take it on chin for me
Norwood wasn't booked because the referee deemed the defender won the ball hence the award of the corner.
Mr O'kane seems to think it was a definate pen or should i say he thinks both pens given against him were definate. The second one which he got sent off mr o'kane must have turned away the second before when mads was himself fouled. I mean lets have someone who can report all the facts
