Worst thing is I think tomorrow will drag on for a late announcement. I honestly think there are no grounds for Wigan’s appeal, but i have no faith. I was totally prepared for relegation last week. Now it would be a blow.
Rules are clear as day that if you go in to Admin you get 12 points off. That Rugby town don't have a leg to stand on and are wasting half a million pounds at a time when they need it.
Haven't they said it will be around seven days before we get a ruling.? Must admit by my very nature, I'm a born worrier so yes, without having any proven reasons, I am a tad apprehensive about the eventual outcome. A mate of mine knows someone who has a relative that sits on the EFL's red card appeal panel. He's apparently qualified because he played a shed load of games over many seasons for a team that currently resides in the Championship. Although it's an independent panel that will preside over Wigans appeal hearing, his view is that they haven't got a case. Their owners knew the penalty for entering receivership and irrespective of their current claims and excuses, they should have carried out more extensive consultations before "pulling the plug" and therefore their punishment will be demotion to League One. Hope he's right, but I'm sure that our collective nerves will continue to jangle until it's confirmed that we are safe.
Not nervous at all - either we stay up cos someone broke the rules or we go down cos we were garbage for a long period of the season.
We might have been garbage because we abided by the rules and didn't spend money on players and wages irresponsibly. No matter how bad we were, we played fair they didn't.
