All I can say, as an ex postie, is that Royal Mail seem to have fully transitioned into a mail storage as opposed to mail delivery operation.
And by transitioned I mean deteriorated.

I’ve had a couple of guitars delivered to me by DHL with no issues. Wouldn’t let Evri handle a child’s plastic spoon.

Used Hermes On a few occasions with no issues tbf. unlike DS. I just think it's pot luck. But I've not used Evri which seems to have bad reviews and not lived up to it's previous ownership under Hermes.

It probably is pot luck, unless it’s Yodel. If I knew a seller was using Yodel to deliver I wouldn’t buy it.

Just looked at the reviews re Evri mate and edited. My response was more my experiences under the previous owners. Which I used often.
I also know someone who used to work there (Evri) at the new depot. And said staff retention is appalling.

I wouldn’t use Yodel full stop. Evri are pretty rubbish but still 100x better than Yodel.

Went sent for one of those cat climbing/activity thingys but when it arrived it was huge, so returned it to Amazon, I dropped it off at the nearest returns outlet, got fully refunded and Evri delivered it back to my house, so if anyone wants to buy a cat climbing/activity thingy I know where there’s one for sale

Did they actually change owners? I thought they just changed names to try and shake off the bad reputation Hermes had developed?

I think Amazon logistics is a thing too isn't it? No idea how you send stuff via them or if you have to be a business though

Use Evri (nee Hermes) all the time for eBay sales (mainly vinyl, some hifi kit) and touchwood, they've yet to let me down. Everything delivered, usually on time. Cheaper than RM.

Sorry, it appears so. A re-branding. But the reputation they are gathering appears to be worse and not better.

Would always use Royal Mail personally as I find it the best and most reliable service, but appreciate others have had no problems with alternative couriers. I'd also reiterate what others have said and steer clear of Yodel. It actually stops me buying from anyone who uses them.

DPD or DHL are your best bet for anything that isn’t to be wanged at a front door.

I think you'll find that ALL parcel couriers handle parcels bound for Northern Ireland very carefully,,,, very, VERY carefully!
