Every time I make a call on my phone the speaker on the car is all muffled, it dosent do it when the radio is on, I’ve tried it on other vehicles and it’s fine so the phone isn’t the issue, someone’s says it count breathe Bluetooth device in the car which faulty but I haven’t a clue…..wondered if anyone might have some advice?

Have you tried playing music from your phone through the car radio to see if that is clear?

And how about a different phone? Have you tried using another one to make calls via Bluetooth in the car?

I remember getting a warning that enabling AAC on one of my Bluetooth devices could be an issue depending on compatibility. If it's an option in your phone's Bluetooth settings for the device that represents your car, try toggling it.

I was afraid you were going to say something like that.

In your phone's Bluetooth settings, get up the list of Bluetooth devices and tap on the one for the car. On Android, it should look something like this:

If you see that AAC setting at the bottom and it's on, try setting it to off (or vice versa).

You've got to wonder why anyone wouldn't want to have the high quality audio experience if it's possible. Surely just set the phone to do it as default, why the need for the user to have to choose it?

As I understand it, not all devices are compatible with that codec, so you need to be able to turn it off if you have issues.

Yeah, I understand that iPhones switch between the AAC and more compatible SBC codec but unlike Android don't let you choose between them explicitly. They just tell you how to turn Bluetooth audio off altogether. Typical Apple bullsh*t. Sorry I can't be of more assistance.

Have you checked that there isn't a separate call volume setting in either the car radio or phone settings

It’s not the volume it’s the quality of the call that’s the issue
