..Disturbance at London immigration centre - BBC News Whilst on the surface the actions described could be said to vindicate the decision by the Home Office to grant asylum to the migrants behind this action, you have to question what drove them to take this extreme action. After all they must know, full well, that it probably means that it eliminates any possibility of a reversal in the decision to deport them. Also, these actions, simply add fuel to the fire when it comes to anti-immigrant views of some in the same way as the violent or anti-social behaviour of a small minority of 'so-called' football fans tarnishes the majority. Without detailing facts when reporting this incident including what led up to it, you have to question why it happened given the initial report is that no-one was injured, no one left the premises and all those involved have been returned to their rooms. Again, without knowing the full facts it sounds more like a 'cry for help' to raise awareness rather than a potential 'riot' even if 'weapons' are mentioned in the initial report.
It's not even newsworthy. A "disturbance" where no-one was injured. But now it's been reported on it gives the usual bigots more ammo to dribble "SEND EM BACK"
My point exactly. The BBC news is becoming more and more like the 'tabloids' by sensationalising headlines. I also noted the other day the main BBC webpage had no less than 6 headlines contained the words 'could' or 'may'. Less of a news site - more mystic Meg. Any item containing ''may' 'might 'could' is NOT news but speculation. Whatever happened to reporting actual facts? It's no wonder they feel the need to convince us by constantly putting 'Why you can trust the BBC for news' footnotes on their webpages !
