Animal lovers please read on...

Apologies, I know this is a football forum and so I am going 'Off Topic'...however, you may already have read the story of Esra, the mini Jack Russell Terrier on page 9 of last week's Chronicle. It's a sad story with the poor little dog twisting her spine and rendering herself currently immobile. Even sadder, this wouldn't have happened had the dog not been subjected to constant loud fireworks over the last few weeks, which resulted in it getting over excited and twisting it's spine.

The dog needs an op costing between £4k and £6k....the owner can't afford this, but there is a crowd funding page on 'just giving.com'....any donations, would be extremely gratefully received. Just type in 'Esra' on the just giving.com site for the full story and latest total raised.
