Dann, Drinkwater and Carroll will cost Reading £1.24m a year (assuming they pay them the limit of £8k). But aye, they are being 'punished' and are under embargo.
I can understand the deal for Drinkwater, as they won't be paying his wages. I'm baffled that a club who have lost £90m in the last year can afford Andy Carroll and Scott Dann though. There's no logic to it. In all honesty, I don't see Carroll improving them. Drinkwater is a great signing at this level though.
Reading are in a desperate situation due to the incompetence of their owner. I have no sympathy for the club. They were happy splashing the cash. They are making desperate signings but for players on big wages (which is partly how they ended up under this embargo in the first place) If life and football was fair then Derby and Reading will hopefully be in the bottom.2 positions come the end of tue seasons.
He is if he cares and is motivated, but I doubt he is based on his conduct in recent years. He's just passing time until his Chelsea contract expires next year, at which point I expect him to retire.
