The EFL won an appeal to overturn the Macclesfield points defection decision recently, I’ve every confidence they won’t bother as Wednesday are a bigger club. The EFL are idiots.

They won't bother as the fixtures for 20/21 are out (already) on Friday. Season has effectively started already. No chance to overturn it now.

It's not that easy, as I'm sure you already know :)

Well, yes.. in a normal season, I'd agree. But this is looking like a season without fans*, so no reason why it's not that easy. Even SYP can't mess about with fixtures this year. :)

*All this stuff about fans back in stadiums in October is cobblers. We'll be up to our necks in the Covid second wave by then IMO.

The season starts in just over 3 weeks time, an appeal will take (guessing) more than that . So games will have already been played. Or are you wanting them to delay the Championship and L1 seasons until the appeal is heard? Wednesday's original hearing was 6 - 8 months wasn't it. Can't delay that long , lol

Also, the actual fixtures are more complicated than you think. Each club has to nominate a neighbour who they wish to not play home games on the same day as. Guess who ours is? Yup, Wednesday. So changing Wednesday's fixtures means changing ours. I'm guessing that Charlton's neighbour is Millwall. So changing Charlton fixtures means changing Millwall's.

So yeah, it's not that easy...

Do you have a link to that , re Wendies and Barnsley. I Would have thought it was not divisional but proximity. Eg Wendy/blunts. Barnsley having a choice. Of the two or even three if you include Rotherham.
Edit. Read it again. Guessing what I’ve replied is what you implied. ?

I read it somewhere a while ago. Apparently the club can/need to nominate a neighbour who they don't want to play on the same day as. The fixtures are then compiled accordingly. I don't have anything official but i think we choose Wednesday still.

Also Wednesday can still choose Blunts and vice versa. That's why compiling the fixtures is complicated!!

Not as easy as that, when Wednesday are signing players for a championship budget and Charlton are buying players for a league 1 budget.

I was just larking about mate, I know that even without fans to cater for, clubs will need to plan their schedules - travel, accommodation, and whatnot. The devil in me would still like to scratch Wednesday and replace with Charlton though.

Charlton’s appeal if they properly make one would be to gain compensation for being relegated as opposed to overturning the relegation.

We would have looked to do something similar had they upheld Wigan’s appeal.

They won’t alter the divisional lineup at this point I don’t think. As well as club’s inputs, local authorities and police forces are consulted re fixtures. Even after they are drawn up, we’ve seen the police change kick off times and the days games are played. Especially by South Yorkshire plod.
