Please give my latest blog post a read! Feedback would be really appreciated. There is a reference to Barnsley FC too as their form has almost gone hand in hand with how my life has been this last year. http://allsportswarrior.blogspot.co.uk/2016/09/there-is-light-at-end-of-darkest-tunnels.html
A great achievement there Jake good to know you've turned things round to your advantage and doing well. Great to hear your looking out for others as well.
Thanks for that it's often darkest before the light shines through the clouds. I've been in similar places myself and although talking about it is essential it's also the hardest thing to do.
So glad you've come through the other side. So many of us go through bad times and there are no easy solutions. I always feel lifted personally when the Reds play well as it helps you escape from life's stresses and strains. Thanks for opening your heart and sharing.
Nice read and I think it takes honesty and bravery to put your personal thoughts and feelings out there. On a different note, your words might be of some relevance and use for support charities etc. in getting the message of speaking to someone across. Think life is harder than some care to admit so nice one for taking it head on and coming out the other side.
Fantastic read and so glad things are looking up for you. I suffer terribly from depression and anxeity and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Terrible illness that completely cripples you physically and emotionally. It's something I will never be free from and is a case of just controlling it with medication and support from friends and family. If you ever feel this way again then please feel free to PM me.
Thank you everyone for your kind messages. It was tough to write this as I don't often put my thoughts into written words but I thought if it helps even one person then it will have been worth it.
Very well written piece, Jake, and courageous of you to open up some of your deeper feelings and thoughts by putting them in the public domain. Hope everything continues for you in a positive way.
Well done turning things around and thanks for sharing. In the same time frame, I was hosptialised with a stroke. My recovery coincided with the Reds up turn in form. Though they have done much better than me in that time, it was a goal to get myself well enough to go to Oakwell and share the fun with everyone else. Wembley and promotion capped that off splendidly and now it's a real treat for me getting to matches, as I can't really do much else. Sadbrewer brings me home afterwards, which is brilliant as I'm usually well knackered by full time. I wish I could carry on improving at the same rate as the Reds, but it feels like this is as good as it's going to get for me. And that's a right downer, but it's great to ride the Reds wave at the moment and the football is real tonic. Got to stop sitting by myself though and try to be more sociable..
That must been very hard but at the same time you've got to have been very strong to have gone through that and come out the other side as happy as you are. I agree that Barnsley's form has definitely helped. it's so much easier to be happy when they have just won a game and at the moment we're all in dreamland I think I could have gone to the match on Saturday as I live in Preston but I need to save a bit of money and I get to watch a lot of football at Accrington so it's not too bad.
