Just thinking, if he hadn't have required surgery to his knee, along with Butland, Trippier, Maguire and Stones, had Alfie been selected for Russia, there would have been five lads in the England squad with connections to Barnsley FC , which would have been some accomplishment. He's had the surgery and is now preparing for the new season. However it's highly likely that his future is not going to be at Swansea. As we already have seen the Reds are thought to have a 15% sell on clause which is prompting the Swans to value him at £20 million. It's rumoured, that West Ham have already had a bid under that valuation rejected and there could now be interest from Premier League new boys, Wolves, Everton, Southampton and Tottenham Hotspur. A £3 million cash injection at this stage of the season would I think, really please our new owners. Whether that would be ploughed back, remains to be seen.
