So last year I bought myself an extremely cheap tablet from Argos - I think it cost about £50. I've only ever installed Spotify on it, as the whole point of the purchase was to use it with my stereo.

Now the issue I have is that every couple of months some rather nasty advertising apps keep on installing themselves, and throwing up full-screen adverts every hour or so. They're definitely nothing to do with Spotify (although they sometimes try to disguise themselves as it). Whenever I track one down and go to uninstall it they always say 'Installed from Settings'.

Has anybody come across this before, and is there any way of dealing with it? I'm not so bothered about the adverts themselves, but I'm worried that if the tablet's giving carte blanche to this nonsense then it could install (and probably already has installed) all sorts of more dangerous nonsense in the background. As I say, I don't think it can be anything I've done because I've done nothing except visit maybe one or two trusted websites and installed Spotify in the whole year I've had it. It literally sits next to the stereo, either in standby or with Spotify open 24/7.
