Don't know if there's another thread. I didn't get it.

He reacted badly against Newcastle. Got dropped. Came on as sub v Brentford. We won. Came off bench again to rapturous applause on Setdi. Scored. Then does that?!? Who is he (baring in mind hes everyone's God!) aiming the cupping ears thing at?

Think you're possibly reading too much into it. Watch the post match interview, seems chuffed.

I don't think he did it to have a go, I think he was doing it to say 'i can hear you, where is my song?'.

I am sure that he just wanted to hear the crowd chanting his name. He did similar when scoring at Wembley by pointing to the name on his shirt. I am not saying if this is a positive thing to do or not. it is just what wonderful Adam seems to want and need. He has been quoted as saying that the positive rapport with the fans was a reason for his remaining with us, so perhaps he just values knowing that it is still there.

I wondered if he'd had some 'stick' I was unaware of or Sommet?!? Players usually adopt that gesture in response to opposition fans. I was just checking.

He could hear the fans better than ever because we've got rid of the ridiculous music spoiling the natural enjoyment of two and a half stands celebrating a goal. If that was his reason than it's silly. There are better ways than to cup the ears which 9 times out of 10 means something completely different so can lead to confusion.

It's not silly at all he was just celebrating.

I notice no ones mentioned him coming on the field before the game to give young Josh Kay a pep talk.

It's like people want Hammill to be controversial. Looking for things that blatantly arent there.

I dont like the way he pushes players away during a goal celebration, did it at wembley when conor tried to grab him, also on Saturday when armstrong wanted to celebrate ,both times, players who were wanting to join in his joy looked peed off with it, even when he scored the winning pen against fleetwood, think he was heading for the fans ,but there were too many players for him to get past, love him to bits as a footballer, but some sides of himself he shows I dont like, but he is who he is and I suppose you have to be a bit "look at me ",to get on sometimes

If he wasn't the person he is he wouldn't score the goals he does.

Lets just appreciate what a fantastic footballer he is.

You don't see the cupping of the ears celebration as a comeback to critics? I do because I only see it when someone has got stick and scored usually though towards opposition fans who have been giving them an hard time like when Chris Martin scored against us. Who else you know to do that celebration to their own fans? Can't think of anyone myself. Not as bad as the thankfully rare times players kiss the club badge.

Not knocking him just don't see why he did it. Scored, nearly set up one and for me has earned a start on saturday all the same. Good point made by red24/7 too as it's better to see the squad happy as one.

This happens time and time again on match of the day.
Players running to celebrate and players trying to catch them all done with smiles on faces
Surprised you haven't noticed it before tbh.

To be fair I think Hemsworth mentioned Adam speaking to Josh in a different thread.

There does seem to be an element if people interpreting his actions in way they weren't intended.

I've seen players do hundreds of time to their own fans.

In fact Cyrus Christie did it towards the Derby fans when he scored against Wednesday at the weekend.

It's really not as rare as you're making out.
