Neil Aris . Now that would be the pits and empty Oakwell . Until he started winning of course and developed a Sarf Yorkshire accent .
Considering that I'm led to believe Stendel was given more flexibility than previous Head Coach's operating the same strategy, I'm not sure you have to be a yes man to take this job. The board might not have budged on the experience challenge, or tried and failed to get the players in (as we don't actually know), but they let Stendel get his way now and again vs. the recruitment team. That battle isn't alien to Barnsley Football Club though. Every manager in the top two divisions will battle with his recruitment team at some point. I guess this whole episode just adds to the circus that is the start of the season.
It’ll be some unknown foreign chap who will oversee a long season leading to relegation then be replaced by another unknown foreign chap (unless brexit prevents this). I suspect the ability to say yes when you should say no will be a prerequisite.
Sacked in short time after Swansea had shipped 29 goals in 11 games. Just what a team who've just conceded 5 need to sort out their defensive frailties!
